Product Details

Axial 1/10 SCX10 III Jeep Cherokee XJ 4X4 RTR Brushed Rock Crawler, White Overview

From 1984 to 2001, the Jeep Cherokee XJ rewrote the off-road rulebook. It was the first compact SUV to run a unibody design and still deliver real trail muscle. No oversized bulk. No unnecessary weight. Just tight dimensions, a short wheelbase, and torque that meant business. By 2001, the XJ had already carved its place into trail folklore. Lightweight construction made it nimble where others felt heavy. The short wheelbase let it pivot through rocky terrain like it knew the lines by heart.

The Axial® 1/10 SCX10™ III Jeep Cherokee XJ 4X4 RTR brings that 2001 attitude back with scale accuracy and true crawler DNA. This is not a generic SUV shell dropped onto a chassis. This is Axial and Jeep coming together to honor a platform that helped shape modern rock crawling.

Axial secured official licensing and executed a true Jeep Cherokee XJ with exact proportions, real body lines, and zero compromise. Offered in factory-correct Forest Green Pearl and Stone White, the second-generation body is paired with BFGoodrich Krawler T/A KX tires on KMC KM444 MESA wheels, the same hardware trusted on full-size rock rigs. Up front, a WARN EVO10-S non-functional scale winch, a DirtBound bumper, and a machined aluminum Factor 55 Hawse Fairlead complete the recovery-ready look with authentic presence.

Under the body, the steel C-channel chassis pairs with AR45 straight axles, 6mm stainless steel suspension links, all-metal pivot balls, and tunable oil-filled shocks with aluminum threaded bodies. The LCXU DIG transmission with DIG locks the rear wheels for sharper turns through tight terrain, operated via the Spektrum™ SLT3 transmitter's third channel. The S683 servo with steel output gear, Axial Slick Rock 35-turn 540-size motor, and Spektrum Firma™ 40A waterproof brushed ESC deliver dependable trail performance. Bright LED lights round out the build for realistic night crawling.

The Axial Jeep Cherokee XJ is a rock crawling legend, scaled down with the same no-nonsense attitude that made the original a benchmark. Whether you are an experienced enthusiast, a garage tinkerer who lives to tune and upgrade, or a Jeep loyalist who has never picked up an RC before, the Axial SCX10 III Jeep Cherokee XJ is built for you.

OFFICIALLY LICENSED KMC WHEELS

Mounted on officially licensed KMC KM444 MESA wheels, the SCX10 III Jeep Cherokee XJ captures the tough, trail-built stance that made the 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ a legend on the rocks. The rugged multi-spoke design and realistic hardware mirror the style of full-size off-road builds, giving the rig a purposeful, ready-for-anything presence. Together with the BFGoodrich Krawler T/A KX tires, the setup delivers the classic XJ crawler look enthusiasts recognize immediately.

OFFICIALLY LICENSED BFGoodrich TIRES

The officially licensed BFGoodrich Krawler T/A KX tires deliver the aggressive traction and unmistakable off-road attitude that defined heavily built early-2000s trail rigs. Deep, rugged lugs claw into rock, dirt, and loose terrain while the bold sidewall styling adds authentic scale detail. It's the kind of tire that instantly completes the classic lifted 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ look.

OFFICIALLY LICENSED WARN WINCH

An officially licensed WARN EVO10-S non-functional scale winch enhances the SCX10 III Jeep Cherokee XJ with true-to-life detail and rugged trail presence. It completes the front end with true-to-form recovery realism and reinforces its full-size trail-inspired presence.

OFFICIALLY LICENSED DirtBound FRONT BUMPER

OFFICIALLY LICENSED FACTOR 55 HAWSE FAIRLEAD

The SCX10 III Jeep Cherokee XJ is equipped with a machined aluminum Factor 55 Hawse Fairlead for enhanced scale realism and premium detailing.

SPEKTRUM SLT3 TRANSMITTER

Together, the Spektrum SLT3 transmitter, SR515 Receiver, and Firma 40A Brushed Waterproof ESC offer precise control on the trail. The radio system's third channel operates the DIG feature.

HIGH-TORQUE S683 STEERING SERVO

The installed S683 steering servo delivers the muscle needed to turn large crawler tires through rocks, ruts, and tight technical lines without hesitation. Built with a durable steel output gear and a standard 25T output spline, it provides the strength and compatibility serious drivers expect when upgrading horns or dialing in steering setups. The servo is also capable of handling 7.4V HV input, giving the system stronger steering response and added torque so you can confidently push your rig harder when the trail gets rough.

DIG FUNCTION

With its LCXU DIG transmission and SX108PM DIG Servo, the SCX10 III Jeep Cherokee XJ can lock the rear wheels for sharper turns and enhanced control when navigating tight terrain. The DIG feature is operated through the transmitter's third channel.

INSTALLED POWER SYSTEM

A factory-installed brushed power system pairs the Axial Slick Rock 35-turn 540-size motor with a Spektrum™ Firma™ 40A waterproof brushed ESC for dependable trail performance.

AR45 STANDARD AXLES

The SCX10 III Jeep Cherokee XJ includes Standard AR45 straight axles that mirror what's found under most full-size off-road vehicles. The LCXU DIG transmission design also makes it easy to switch from standard axles to portals if desired.

OPTIMIZED SUSPENSION

The suspension features updated 6mm stainless steel links and all-metal pivot balls for off-road durability. The tunable oil-filled shocks have aluminum threaded bodies and a single coilover spring.

ADJUSTABLE METAL PANHARD MOUNT

The adjustable metal panhard mount resists cracking or bending under stress, especially when paired with heavy-duty tires or strong servos. The mount can be positioned forward or backward to accommodate either a portal or straight axle setup.

LCXU METAL GEAR TRANSMISION

Built around two 48-pitch metal gears and a 48-pitch metal compound gear paired with a 56-tooth composite spur gear, the LCXU Metal Gear Transmission delivers the durability and mesh quality serious rock crawlers demand. Portal axle users can further tailor drivetrain performance by swapping out the compound and idler gears for a configuration that suits their setup.

SCX10 III STEEL C-CHANNEL CHASSIS

The one-piece steel C-channel chassis is easy to work on, reduces frame flexing, and increases the precision of suspension movement.

POWERFUL LED LIGHTS

The powerful integrated LED lighting system recreates the authentic lighting layout of a classic trail-built Cherokee with bright white headlights, signature yellow running lights, and detailed rear taillights. The scale-correct lighting gives the rig the unmistakable look of a real 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ, bringing front and rear details to life. It also adds a whole new dimension to night crawling, letting your rig look just as realistic on the trail after sunset as it does sitting on display.
